Soccer

Mitre logoSoccer is a second term sport at Waterstone College, at both Prep School and College levels, and we place a great deal of emphasis on skills development, fitness and talent identification. We play in a number of leagues and competitions, both 11-a-side and 6-a-side.

Girls Soccer was introduced for the first time in 2008, and looks like being a very popular option!

Waterstone College soccer is proudly sponsored by Mitre.

Master-in-Charge: Akim Zulu (Prep), Michael Darby (College)

Soccer Results

The soccer season is over at High school level: congratulations to our Under 14 and Under 15 sides who both won their leagues. The Under 14s won 7 of their 8 games, and the under 15s lost just twice.

After a very successful season at Prep level, it is just the Under 9s who are still playing, having beaten KEPS 1-0 to get through to the semi-finals of the Knockout Cup. The Under 10s did well to reach the quarter finals.

High Performance Centre and New Fields underway!

Our new High Performance Centre is now well underway, and work has now begun on the second storey! The HPC will include an 800 square metre sports hall, gymnasium, canteen, AV Room, Sports Offices and Physio Room. It will be used for athletics, cricket, hockey and soccer - we are exceptionally excited about the project, which will be the only facility of its kind in the south of Johannesburg.

Our new fields are also currently under construction - including an international standard soccer field! <!--break-->
