College Curriculum

Examinations at Grade 9 and Grade 12 levels (at the end of the GETC and FET Phases respectively) are written under the auspices of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), so as to ensure a high quality qualification which is recognised and accepted around the world.

Class sizes are limited to an average of 25 and a maximum of 26.

Grade 8-9

Senior Phase learners follow the following learning areas:

  • English (Language of Instruction and First Language)
  • Afrikaans (Second Language)
  • Mathematics
  • Social Sciences (History and Geography)
  • Economic and Management Sciences (EMS)  
  • Arts and Culture (including Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts)
  • Life Orientation (including Physical Education, Guidance and Bible Education)
  • Natural Sciences
  • Technology (including Computers)

Grade 10-12

Complusory subjects in the FET phase:

  • English, Afrikaans, Life Orientation and Maths/ Maths Literacy

Three subjects from the following list:

  • Accounting
  • Business Studies
  • Computer Applications Technology
  • Civil Technology
  • Geography
  • History
  • IT (8th subject only)
  • Life Sciences
  • Physical Science
  • Sports and Exercise Science
  • Visual Arts
